It's a good way to meet people with similar interests, especially when you're in the mood to get out and mingle with like-minded people. It's all well and good to be independent and self-sufficient, just not all the time. Romance might have to take a back seat to camaraderie. Dating games aren't nearly as interesting as good conversation.
