Too many folks are eager to be there when things look fun and exciting and easy, but then they quickly disappear when things start to get rough. People who have no follow-through won't offer you anything more than someone to talk to when you take a break from your efforts. If this is all you require, that's fine, but if you're really looking for partners, keep looking.
