Chatting up fun people will garner you an invitation to a very interesting place! Talking to coworkers, cashiers, or neighbors isn't just a matter of being polite. Unless you regularly connect with people, your relationships will deteriorate. Put in some maintenance with the people you don't see every day, even if you only talk to them for a minute or two.
